Exhibits:

Our hands-on exhibits include

  • K.I.D. Construction
  • The Art Box
  • The Lego Bar
  • Let's Go to the Hospital!
  • Soft Spot and Reading Nook
  • Our Kitchen
  • Dance! Dance! Dance!
  • The Climbing Wall
  • Welcome to the Bank!
  • The Rice and Train Tables
  • The Puppet Theater
  • The Stage and Backstage

These exhibits and their paired programming employ the tools that help children get ready for school and build on the skills they are learning in the classroom. For example, the shape and color activities in the Lego Bar allow students to construct understanding of geometric ideas, and to develop spatial skills. The building blocks in various exhibits help them to build knowledge in their minds and use their body-kinesthetic skills. In the end, the ideal early education curriculum is parading around in dress-up clothes, building forts, and being read to-- all of which happens at the Children's Museum every day.

School Programs:
Call the museum to book your school group. At $3.00 per child, the CMOV provides a great field trip opportunity for a pre school or elementary class. Teachers and chaperones are free with a group booking. The museum serves young people ages 2-10.

For an additional $2 per child (for a total of $5 per child), you may chose an special learning activity provided by the professional educators on the Museum staff. You have access to all exhibits, a 20-30 minute activity, and use of the lunchroom. We can also customize an activity for your class, which may require an additional supplies fee. We have a facility for your class to eat lunch or a snack that you bring with you.
