School Programs:
Call the museum to book your school group. At $3.00 per child, the
CMOV provides a great field trip opportunity for a pre school or
elementary class. Teachers and chaperones are free with a group
booking. The museum serves young people ages 2-10.
For an additional $2
per child (for a total of $5 per child), you may chose an special
learning activity provided by the professional educators on the
Museum staff. You have access to all exhibits, a 20-30 minute
activity, and use of the lunchroom. We can also customize an
activity for your class, which may require an additional supplies
fee. We have a facility for your class to eat lunch or a snack
that you bring with you.

Bring the House Lights Down
Bring children's books to life with our puppet theater and/or
curtained stage complete with wardrobe and props. We offer this
activity for several specific titles, but we can accommodate a book of your
choice with a little imagination.
More than 10,000 steps a day
Explore good food choices at the store and what physical activity it
takes to stay healthy.
Little Architects
Test the strength of your creations with various "bricks" from legos
to cardboard blocks, to toothpicks for the older students.
What's in my Taco?
Teaching kids about the food pyramid and staying healthy with the
Salsa Cafe.
Our History
For West Virginia schools, this program would look at this day in
history of the city of Wheeling and the state of West Virginia. When
appropriate visitors from the past will drop by to tell their
stories.

Programs:
Color Mixing
learn about making secondary colors with a little water and food
coloring.
Walk this Way
Using our Fitness Factory obstacle course and other objects
form the museum, students choose the best paths over, around,
through and under while following directions. We take Polaroid
pictures of their trek to create a field trip book for them to take
back to school.
Fingerpainting Textures
Including objects such as salt, rice, small pasta, cornmeal
and others in fingerpaint makes an extrasensory experience.
Patterns
After learning a bit about patterns in school, come to the
museum to make patterns on t-shirts and students can wear their
success.
Structures
Counting and building go hand in hand when students learn
how high they can build a tower without it falling over. Then we
increase the base of the "building" to see if we can make it taller.
A great activity for making hypotheses too!

scouts can earn a Try-It or Badge with us. The cost is just $4.00
per girl. Adults are free. (Some activities might cost a bit more.)
Daisy Troops
The Children's Museum is a great place to host a troop meeting. The

activities we plan together. We'll set up the activities for you.
